Oakmont Country Club cup and saucer

This cup and saucer was made by Scammell in their Lamberton line with an ivory body. It was made sometime in the period between the mid-1930's and 1954 for Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, PA.

Built in 1903 in suburban Pittsburgh, Oakmont is continually ranked as one of the top five golf courses in America. Oakmont has been host of the U.S. Open eight times (more than any other course). It has also hosted three PGA Championships, five U.S. Amateurs, and one U.S. Women's Open (scheduled to return in 2010).

The cup and saucer is in excellent condition, with one small wear mark in the saucer which doesn't detract from the display quality of the set.
